As a fashionista it pains me to not be able to attend such momentous affairs as Miu Miu’s evanescent female members club. The craze of the ‘Members only clubs’ have been effervescent in London since the 17th Century; however over time the opportunities for women to enjoy a conversational evening among the beau monde of London’s most fashionable society has deteriorated due to the ever-increasing and overpowering number of Gentlemen clubs. It is this that inspired Miuccia Prada to create a humble abode for the VIP and yes that is Very Important people, not Very Important Princesses (although there were a few of those to say the least), where the likes of Kate Moss and Alexa Chung devoured divine food cooked by culinary experts April Bloomfield and Margot Henderson and enjoyed light conversation over female role models, present and past in the astute conversation room.
Miu Miu’s stunning window display at the Cafe Royale
Miu Miu’s pop-up club is reminiscent of the days when women had that eire about them gracing themselves with such elegance whilst carrying themselves with poise and class. Set within the aesthetics of the outstanding decor of Regent Street’s Cafe Royale, with furniture designed by Miu Miu especially, and a RSVP list any fashionista would die to have in her phonebook; the event was a mind blowing success and I believe I would class the affair as ‘the Miu Miu woman’s wonderland’, whilst other industry insiders such as Pop Magazine referred to the soiree as a Disneyland for Adult women.
The ‘Conversation Room’ at Miu Miu’s pop-up club
Whilst Miu Miu addressed the soiree as being a female members only event, males were allowed to accompany females as guests. Looks like my +1 invite got lost in the mail, meanwhile I have been assessing which VIP guests I believe proved themselves to be true fashionistas in the style of the ‘classic Miu Miu woman’.
