Mykonos Madness

In late August my best friend Georgia and I treated ourselves to a week away in the land of Mykonos in Greece and what fun we had! I can honestly say we had some mad experiences from partying backstage with Snoop Dog himself and dancing on stage to bumping into some old friends and taking a trip on their yacht to seeing Afrojack and Steve Aoki perform.

As first-timers in Mykonos we thought we were just going for a relaxing time in the sun, that is until we discovered the 'Ibiza style' party life. I have now done Ibiza and Mykonos and the equilibrium that Mykonos offers was just what we needed. With world famous DJs performing in the clubs every night we were able to catch a few in their 2 main clubs; Club Paradiso and Paradise. In addition to this you have the option to wind down and go for a beautiful dinner in the cute town of Mykonos followed my a few drinks in some local bars..lets not forget the gay bars (these were so much fun!!). There are also beach parties that happen similar to those at Nikki Beach in Marbella/St Tropez..so for such a small island there is an abundance of fun and hilarious things to do!

We stayed in a small and intimate hotel that was ever so adorable, a white building with blue pained shutters and balcony's it was a signature greek hotel (..literally everything is white and blue..I love it!). Our hotel was within a 10 minute walking distance from the town and a 2 minute walk to the bus stop. For anyone who hasn't been you can forget finding a taxi (it is virtually impossible), there are only 27 on the whole island meaning everyone gets around either by foot or via coach, quad bike or scooter, so expect manic roads with crazy drivers EVERYWHERE!!! We once walked for 2 hours, however the situation was so ridiculous that we were laughing hysterically the whole way.

I thought I would share a few of my experiences with you all and share some of our summer fashion choices from the holiday.

Event: One Piece A/W 2013 Launch Party

The ever expanding urban brand renowned for their adult sized baby-grows renamed onesies launched their latest collection at Kensington Roof Gardens on Friday. I was lucky enough to be part of the One Piece team, and whilst rubbing shoulders with celebrity and industry professionals, I was able to get a sneak peak at what was to come this season from the Norwegian brand 'ONE PIECE'.

The affair was great fun, I mean we were all running around in onesies and converse trainers which was a refreshing change from going out in sky-high heels and a fancy outfit. There was a photo-booth which took fun and professional photos equipped with props and all sorts of miscellaneous. One of the photos booths had a motion camera which takes a series of quick shots that are then printed to create a flip book for you and your friends. If you are hosting an event or party I would definitely recommend 'Boutique Booths'.

I unfortunately missed the dance performance as I was the door girl for the night, however once the clock stuck 9:30 I was able to go and party with everyone else once we closed the guest list. I opted for the classic original one piece in navy whilst friends of mine sported the college style, one with the pun '69..Jump in' on the back...we all know what that's referring too. Others sported the American flag and the latest style of a tightly fitted tracksuit one piece.

Overall the launch was a success and everyone enjoyed the night thoroughly! I look forward to the Spring/summer collection early next year!

Fitness: Get Fit For Free

Getting that perfect body doesn't come easy and it doesn't help that gym membership fees seem to be extortionate these days. I am joined to David Lloyd leisure club and pay £73 a month which is ridiculous seeing as I barely ever actually go! So I thought I would do some digging and see what is out there in the industry of excercise and getting fit that you can actually do for free or for pretty much nothing and this is what I found...Well stumbled accross anyway!

{ Find a park with a Fit-for-free gym }

I couldn't believe my eyes when I returned from my holiday in Mykonos to find a FREE GYM in the park by my house. I was walking Princess (my beautiful miniature maltese) when I stumbled accross a gym..in the park. The most bizarre sight, not ugly in fact much of it is designed pink, blue and black and is modern and relatively attractive to the eye. Within the gated area there is a running machine that is powered by the movement of your feet and the momentum you create as you run; a pedal bike, a rowing machine, balancing equipment, weights and much much more. It is genuinley built like a gym, just one thing is missing - ELECTRICITY.

A clever interpretation of a gym, built and maintained by The Great Outdoor Gym Company. Great Outdoor Gyms cost nothing to run and very little to maintain and guess what, to become a member it is completely free, there is no contract tieing you down and you wont have your bank ringing you every month because you have gone into your 'unplanned overdraft'.

Beauty Budget Buy: Nars Light Optimising Gift Set

Good Morning Beauties!

I know I have already raved on at you about the NARS light optimizing primer, but I am going to again because during my much needed shopping spree in Selfridges last night I came accross the best deal..EVER. I cannot leave the house without applying my light optimizing primer and translucent powder from NARS and yesterday, whilst I only went in for a foundation pump, spotted the two items and a make up bag beautifully displayed on the counter. I was informed that for £30 you could have the light optimizing primer and the translucent pressed powder equipped with a dazzling red make up bag rather than £50 which the primer and powder cost RRP. That was a done deal as they are necessities to my reigime and well..you can never have too much make-up I say.

The gift set comes inside a black silk duffel bag with a make up bag and two light optimising products - the primer and the translucent powder (£30)

The make up bag itself is of a reasonable size, in radiant red embellished with juicy red lips. The bag comes in a lovely black, silk bag within the classic NARS packaging. Although it is irrelevant as it goes straight in the bin, I was impressed with the packaging of the set and the silk bag is sure to come in handy!

If you are a NARS virgin and have never used either products, I would reccommend you to pop down to your nearest store (Space NK/Selfridges) and try them out. The translucent powder is great for setting your foundation, and whilst the block white colour can be alarming, it appears as translucent as the name says it should be. With light refelcting particles in both the powder and the primer, they complement you for a glowing and radiant complexion. A must have in my eyes.

The Secret Garden

As the lesser spotted sun made a rare sojourn from the clouds, my sister and I decided to stroll down to the King's Road to do a touch of shopping and grab some lunch whilst enjoying a glass on vino in the sunshine. Along the way we stumbled across what I like to call Chelsea's Secret flower Garden. This hidden gem portrays what appears like a spiritual garden, with the most beautiful flowers smothering the ground and the walls. We both had to get a photograph as we thought the backdrop was just far too cute!

What I Wore: Blazer, Skirt, Shirt, Belt and matching Headband - Zara, Sunglasses - H&M, Handbag - Chanel

Get the Look: All pieces are still in store (Zara) I would recommend the Knightsbridge store for the best pieces this season

What Lucy Wore: Puffa Jacket - Primark, T-Shirt - River Island, Jeans - Zara, Shoes - Leather All Star Converse, Handbag - Hermes, Sunglasses - Miu Miu

The Knightsbridge Zara has newly been renovated and they have definitely raised their standards stocking the best of this seasons collections. With a sharper edge and more delicate interior this store definately exceeds the expectations of any other Zara I have shopped in.

TREND ALERT: BRIAN LICHTENBERG

ADORED by the likes of supermodels Cara Delevingne and Candice Swanepoel, pop stars Rihanna and Ciara and actresses Miley Cyrus and Ashley Benson; Brian Lichtenberg has a vast A-lister fan base for his urban collection of gimmicky apparel. The LA based designer has created slogans based on huge designer names such as Hermes (Homies), Balmain (Ballin) and Celine (Feline). Lichtenberg's play on words has spread globally with his witty fashion tees and sweatshirts along with baseball caps and beanies being snapped up worldwide. Big-name UK retailers such as Harvey Nichols now stock his edgy apparel as well as online retailers such as Net-A-Porter and online fashion boutiques such as Browns.

After discovering Lichtenberg's work I have found myself with a rather abominably long wish-list, one which stretches beyond my bank account. Whilst his pieces are made in LA, they are of course more expensive over here in the UK...exporting cost and all that Jazz, however they range from £34 for one of his knitted beanies to £100 for a sweater. Unless you want one of everything, then you are in trouble! ££££

Say Thank You To Your Father This Fathers Day

For those that do not already know Father's Day is on June16th and is fast approaching. My father is my best friend, yet I have to admit I am awful when it comes to this day as I always forget when it is and end up finding a last minute fix, which is never that great. This year I want to say thank you to my father for being the amazing person he is and for always standing by me. I thought I would share some great gift ideas for Father's day as in tribute.

Starbucks Coffee Machine - £149
(http://www.starbucksstore.co.uk)

Canali Printed Silk Pocket Square - £55
(http://www.mrporter.com)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Textured-Leather IPAD Sleeve - £105

Introductory Flying Lesson - £129

Callaway Golf Balls - £10.99

Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male" - £44

Kiehls mens grooming - Start at £8 (for all 4 £72)
You could also treat you father to lunch/dinner or alternatively, if you aren't looking to spend money you could spend some time doing something he wants to do (for example go to a museum or plan a day of activities he enjoys) or if you're arty and creative, you could hand-craft something meaningful such as a decorated poem or drawing.
